Even though social marketing has grown tremendously over the last decade but people still overlook the potential content marketing in increasing leads, brand awareness and brand reputation.
People don’t give the attention that content marketing deserves because of certain misconceptions. And in this blog, I will try to clear up a few misunderstandings if you are one of those people who think content marketing is not important to the marketing strategy of your business.
One big mistake that most brands make with their content is that they bombard their customers with sale pitches and service information. People are not interested in these, and they get fed up quickly.
Instead what customers are looking for is genuine, interesting content that will keep them engaged. They will not read your content if it is only full of your services and products. You can save those for social media posts and ads.
Another misconception about content is that people would rather scroll through their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest feed, than read articles. This is absolutely wrong as 64% of the customers give feedback which means there is a large number of people who are not only paying attention but also actively engaging the content they read online.
You just need to offer them the content that they want to read.
Your business could be in any niche, but there is always something you can write about it. You will need to do a little bit of research about your business in general and what issues people face with products and services. This is the first place for you to start and as time goes by, you will think of new ideas and concepts that you need to write about in your content marketing.
It does cost money to hire good content writers, graphic designers, etc. but when you think of it as an investment which no doubt will pay off in future, you will find that it is more reasonable expense than traditional marketing.
And the results you will see at the end will be worth it too.
if you expect to get results overnight with content marketing, then that is not going to happen. You will need to be patient, but within a few days, you will observe the change happening gradually and more people becoming aware of your brand. This will no doubt increase leads and sales.
You will no doubt get a lot of traffic quickly, but if your goal is to increase sales, then you will need to stay patient, at least for a few weeks.
All of the above are just a few misunderstandings people have about content marketing, but if you hire a good team of people with great content writers, graphic designers and website managers, then you can make your business soar.
